Shameless Bollywood Auditions & Screen Test of 1950s Which Remained Hidden From People

The casting couch is inevitable but back then in 1951 how were audtions for heroines conducted. Take a look at this picture where director Abdul Rashid Kirdar is taking an audition. Back then too youngsters came with dreams and stardust in their eyes. These photos have been accessed from Life Magazine’s photojournalist James Burke. Kirdar was looking for an Indian and foreign girl for his next film. Kirdar’s claim to fame was Shehenshah (1946), Dillagi (1949), Dulari (1949), Dil diya dar liya (1966).
